A taste of cultura- stitched by hand

Share
Los mas dulces recuerdos vienen de los momentos mas sencillos- a warm kitchen, the laughter of a family gathered around the table a small hand reaching for una concha, or two.
My children loved pan dulce so much- the sweetness, the colors, the moments shared with the family eating pan. So much love for pan but they didn't have a pretend version to play with in their play kitchen.
So I stitched,
I stitched them their first set of conchas to play in their kitchen. They now had their own version of cultura forming a part of their imaginative play. Sure they could eat a concha anytime, but having a toy in their play kitchen that represented us was so much more.
My youngest daughter at the time loved her pan, we threw her a "Two sweet like pan dulce" birthday party. Since I had made my girls their own set of conchas I knew I had to make them party favors. They were the perfect touch to her concha themed birthday brunch. It was from that moment on that I wanted to create handmade pieces that honor our foods, our memories, and the magic of our culture to fill your homes. I realized I would be stitching for our culture and the memories we carry and the ones still being made for our future generations.
I stitched these felt pieces with so much love for your little ones hands and for mine.
